Also been working on layout ideas for the site. I'm partial to one general layout scheme with different colours and whatnot. Like these:

some suggestion to make u look like a real dedicated fansub group, and if u do follow the current anime trends, u would already know.
1. dont release DIVX anymore , its outdated
2. xvid should be 170mb to 200mb, or if u r extremist, u could aim for 233 mb xvid.
3. h264 should be 170mb for poor encoders. good encoders that encode h264 and also uses filters to improve video quality should be able to achive optimum 140mb
4. i dont mind u label ur releases as LQ and HQ, but the most vital thing is to label the codec like XVID or H264 . optionally if possible, submit "video resolution size" too.
I already somehow insulted tons of ur hardcore nutcase extremist fans by asking which codec is it for every release u released? and 99% of them is wrong or dont know. too bad, ur releases appeals for hardcore morons
5. release xvid or h264 first. and really forget bout divx. it may take a while to encode those, but thats what 90% of encoders do.
6. tell those bastards that want clockless version to go to hell . it doesnt matter much WITH/WITHOUT clockless. the main factor is video quality and sharpness.
7. this year is 2007, and please dont release anime that is so damm blur that look like few years ago.
Full Screen WideScreen is okay, but do note that if u further enlarge the video resolution size, the blurer it become.
example is the infamous skull man h264 raws, its so damm blur in fullscreen widecreen.
and lastly, i do know i would be severely bash for my comments.

and releasing in divx, xvid and h264 is a great idea in catering diversity for downloaders.
but do u notice ur earlier torrents is slowly dying up much more quickly. and for people who are going to download ur release via bt might choose to download from other groups instead because it got too little seeds. and i gonna ask u, do ur groups keep every release that U RELEASE for seeding purpose. or dont tell me, u dont even keep ur own releases because u know its damm a lot and troublesome, and it wasnt good enough to keep.
Episode 9 was just weird. I know the other person who released subs a little after ours didn't do so well either. I guess the dialogue was weird. /shrug And the katakana... bane of my existence.
We do not encode anything with DivX. All of the avis have been encoded with XviD from the beginning, and the first mkv SQs were encoded with it as well. I do the avis, Fang does the mkvs. Thus the reason as to why they are labeled (and now encoded) differently. I don't know about Fang, but I do in fact keep all of the avis in case they need to be seeded later on.
Yes, the seeding is slow in the beginning. There's only one initial seeder for each file.
We don't mess with the video resolution. The raws we use are 704x396 (with the exception of one HQ mkv, but there was only one raw for a while that week). Yes, 704x396 will not be uber awesome quality when played fullscreen. It's not exactly meant to be played fullscreen. Especially not fullscreen with a widescreen monitor.
I, for one, am planning on making a batch torrent for episodes 1-13 (and later 14-26). They will ideally be clockless (seriously, the clock sucks), and be of a better quality than they are now. Yes, it means re-encoding the episodes, and yes, it means that people would have to download them again, but they don't have to and that's fine. It'll be there for whoever wants it.
Insult us all you want, we're doing this for fun. We're learning what works and what doesn't. Everyone starts somewhere, and you don't learn anything if you don't experiment. We might not be the best, but at least we're trying.

this is one of ur DIVX releases.
I didn't have anything to do with the encode for the episode 2 mkv. Someone wanted to help Fang with it, and he said he used XviD.
Also, I don't check the mkvs. But anything I encode is encoded with XviD.
Nyoro~n is doing their best. Give them a break. Im sure they will learn all those tips that you gave them all in due time. Im just happy that they do sub Gurren Lagann and other awsome animes.
