if quality is good, I have no comment about it.
well pretty good translation as always, but as always you let youself down on the encode (96k audio, ouch my ears) and nigh unredable subs due to the font used and size.
You could do sooooo much better with just a few minor tweaks.
oh and BTW, you need to set your Kana subs to Shift_JIS Encodeing otherwise they dont display :)
You'll find that our subs are a lot better when you aren't using VLC anonymous.
and what should anonymous be using to watch your subs to the best of their qualities?
I use Windows Media Player. =D
But I guess Zoom Player works fine too.

Ether of the players included with the combined community codec pack work wonders with any video you would ever want to play.
You guys won't be doing HQ version anymore?
The HQ (high quality) was basically a raw and an .ass thrown together. Then I discovered how to make a h264 encode, which allowed me to get quality close to the raw with a size close to the old Xvid Low Quality. This removed the need for both types. Those who wanted to have a raw sized file could download the .ass, and everyone else could have a comparable .mkv file that is much smaller in filesize.
I like the avi releases, I can't burn mkvs to DVDs and watch them on my TV :/
Um, I'd hate to rain on the parade but for the person who said, pretty good translations as always... what language were you listening to. Up until now the subs have been super huge and I haven't been able to read them. Then ep nine came along and when I was able to read them I thought the translator might have been drunk or something. But after seeing ep ten I'm beginning to suspect that it's always been like this. Either two people are translating this thing,(one gets the first half, the other gets the second half.) and the first person doesn't really know what he/she is doing because the first half of ep 10 was filled with mistakes left and right. After the point where Adinine came back for the second time, the translations were pretty good for the most part. Frequency in mistakes took a big drop.
The other scenario is one person translated the whole thing and the second half was just easier for him/her. Really though, might wanna check into getting another/more translators.
I'm guessing the anonymous above me watched anon's subs and took them as solid. Anon's first half was the one riddled with errors. Mistake number one.
Mistake number two is that he obviously STILL uses VLC and posted here where there is a comment in just about every post about why that dinosaur of a program is responsible for the font size.
Mistake number 3 is that he doesn't know Nyoron is one person and an editor, something he would have known if he had watched any nyoron sub through to the end.
Seriously, how many times does this have to be said? VLC IS NOT GOOD FOR PLAYING THE MKVS.
Ok? Ok. The font size has never gone above 36. Ever. That's hardly "huge".
Yes, episode 9 had mistakes. Ours wasn't the only one that had mistakes. But we went back and tried to fix them. It was a weird episode, ok? Ok.
Fang is the only translator. Oh sure, I can pick up on words and phrases and get the general meaning of things, but Fang does all the translating, and I check the scripts and try to catch all the spelling and grammar errors. I hope you're not thinking that the screenshots in the blog entry below this one are actually real (especially when I said that they're not). I did them for fun when I was bored.

I was never actually complaining about the large subs that showed up on VLC. I was just explaining why I was never able to read the subs until episode 9 when for some reason the subs were normal sized. Unlike 1-8.
I know the screenshots in the blog entry were just for fun. I was referring to the translations used in the actual release.

Um. I think I'm not understanding this quote (who is anon?)because that's exactly what I was saying. The first half of ep 10 (until you get to the point where Adenine shows comes back for revenge) was absolutely full of big translation errors.
Btw, my first post wasn't really meant to be an attack. Just letting you know that your translator isn't up to par.

Thanks for looking at it Jackie, but as you may also know re-timing kareoke is a royal pain in the ass. Plus the single of Sora Iro Days is coming out soon which will have the official indisputable lyrics, so please bear with the kareoke as it is for a bit longer, we'll change it to the official lyrics where necessary once its out in a week or so.
To the anon talking about the font size - episodes 1 through 5 had a subtitle size of size 36. Episodes 6 through 8 had a subtitle font size of 28. Episodes 9 and 10 have a subtitle font size of 30 (yeah I think we're sticking with 30 now). So unless the font size was changed after I sent the checked script back to Fang, I don't see how the font size could've ended up so huge. Unless it was the shadows interfering somehow. And [Anon] is another subber doing Gurren Lagann.
jackie - We decided to wait until the single came out (6/27, why soooo loonng ><) and then we'll redo the op one last time because Fang and I hear different lyrics in places. It reminds me of the english lyrics in the DtB op, lol.

I'm looking forward to this single, so I can see if I was correct ;>. It is basically said, that my country language has all sounds, that japanese has, so for us having proper japanese pronunciation is only natural ;> Well... I hope that I was correct mosty ;D (I am studying japanese for 2 years only ;< ) Oh, and sorry for english mistakes ^^ I've Never had it in school ;) Learned from books, comics, movies, games etc... ^^

Okay that quote makes sense now. Now I can say, no it wasn't a mistake. If anon is another subber doing GL then its just a coincidence that they translated the first part horribly too. I've never seen anon's so I can't say for sure. The one I did watch was from Nyoro and well... as I said in the previous post. Unfortunately I don't have the motivation like Jackie has to point all the mistakes.
Motivation... :F I'd like to have one to learn more.. :F ^^
